Package cargo

Package cargo is the shipment of goods in quantities from 1 pallet to 10-15 pallets.

The goods are collected in containers and are carried by ship together with other goods headed for the same destination.

With our package cargo service, we arrange for the collection of shipments through our extensive contact and agent network in Europe, the U.S. and Asia, and make deliveries to the door of customers in Norway.

Rotterdam is our hub for collecting international cargo, with weekly sailings to Norway. All shipments from the U.S., Asia or Europe end up here. From Rotterdam, they are sent to Stavanger, Haugesund, Bergen and Trondheim. This results in optimal utilization of capacity, which in turn benefits the customer in the form of favourable prices.

This solution provides us with a great deal of flexibility with respect to lead times, at the same time as it is cost efficient and environmentally friendly.

Too much of the cargo headed for Western Norway, arrive via Svinesund (the Norway-Sweden border) and is driven far on Norwegian roads. This part of the country is an important area of focus for us, and we consider it our social responsibility to move as much cargo as possible away from dangerous road situations – from east to west. Tellus has regular departures from the continent and beyond, with arrival to several Western Norway destinations. We use this service to carry cargo of all dimensions and weight classes. We have solutions to cover all requirements.

With our package cargo service, we arrange for collection of shipments of all sizes through our extensive contact and agent network in Europe. All containers are filled with several shipments, for optimal utilization of capacity. The container is sent by ships plying regular routes from Europe up along the western coast of Norway, and shipments are delivered at the door of each recipient upon arrival. This solution provides us with a great deal of flexibility with respect to lead times, at the same time as it is cost efficient, environmentally friendly and helps to reduce a great deal of the heavy truck transport taking place between Eastern Norway and the Norwegian west coast, where the cargo is in fact headed.
